F1  Students will demonstrate an understanding of the nature of technology

F1.1    demonstrate an understanding that technology is a tool
F1.2    identify techniques and tools for communicating, storing, retrieving and selecting information and apply appropriate vocabulary
F1.3    demonstrate an understanding that information can be shared through a variety of media
F1.4    will practice the concepts of ergonomics and safety when using technology
F1.5    will demonstrate a basic understanding of the operating skills required to use a variety of technologies.

F2  Students will understand the role of technology as it applies to self, work and society and will demonstrate moral and ethical use

F2.1    comply with the acceptable use policy of the school and the Department of Education for Internet and networked services
F2.2    use appropriate communication language and etiquette
F2.3    document sources obtained electronically, such as web site addresses
F2.4    respect the privacy and products of others
F2.5    demonstrate an understanding that ICT resources are limited and must be shared collaboratively
F2.6    understand personal safety issues on the internet

F3  Students will become discerning consumers of mass media and electronic information

F3.1    compare similar types of information from two different sources
F3.2    understand the nature of various media and how they are consciously used to influence an audience
F3.3    understand and demonstrate how to authenticate an online source
