Keyboarding Continuum
All Yukon students need the opportunity to improve their
keyboarding skills. The Keyboarding Continuum gives guidelines on the
progress necessary each year using our existing software - All the
Right Type.
This
will be a phased implementation starting in the 2007-2008 school year.
Students will be added to the ATRT database by grade, starting with
Grade 3. Each year a new grade will be added. The students accounts
will progress up the continuum annually until all grades are phased in.
Teachers in grades that have not been phased in can still add their own students to the ATRT database by class.
ATRT
progress is individual for each student. This allows them to work at
their own pace. The continuum gives guidelines on the optimum number of
lessons that should be covered in a year and the suggested time
necessary to do so.
It is recommended that all students be required to do a review of the Home Row keys (Lesson 2) annually.
