Excelsior Space Mission 2006
Take a voyage in the Space Shuttle Excelsior

The Shuttle has has landed safely and our mission was a success. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who help us throughout the day.

On Thursday, January 19th, 2006 this Grade 6 class will blast off into space! This 12 hour space shuttle simulation is designed to give students an idea of what it might be like to be part of a shuttle crew or the Mission Control Team.

In mid-October, students applied to join our Space School and then examined our solar system, history of space exploration, living and working in space and the scientific method using critical thinking skills, creativity, co-operative learning and experimental learning.

On January 19, our astronauts will lift-off into space to experience the wonder of space exploration while carrying out many of the functions most astronauts do. They exercised, conducted experiments, kept journals and much more while Mission Control guided them.

By stimulating students' imaginations, students not only become engaged, empowered and energetic, they developed a quest for knowledge. By following the voyage through our site, you will learn more about our experiences and the wonders of space!
