Science, history of Mount Logan goes online

(CBC News, 24 January 2008) -- Canada's highest mountain can now be explored with a computer keyboard and mouse, as a new website dedicated to Mount Logan officially launches Thursday in Whitehorse. "Mount Logan: Canadian Titan" is the latest addition to the Virtual Museum of Canada website network, which is dedicated to Canadian history, art and culture. Yukoners are invited to a launch event at 6 p.m. PT Thursday at the Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre.The $110,000 website was funded by the federal government but produced by the Yukon government's museums unit, which runs the Beringia centre. The Kluane First Nation, the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations, and the Yukon Geological Survey, among others, made in-kind contributions to the project.
