Monday, March 12 meeting anticipated slides: Sensitive Periods of Brain Development Canadian Chamber of Commerce Resolution Lynn Anderson & Paul Kershaw - 15by15 webcast slides Ann Cooper's Revolstoke Partnership's presentation slides partners for children 2011-2012 Partners for Children is changing things up for this academic year. In order to have time to reconsider how to best meet the training needs of Whitehorse and the Yukon communities we are offering a different workshop set-up this year. For people who have taken at least two Partners workshops in the last year we will be holding two more Saturday workshops to complete the series. The first of these was held on Saturday October 22nd - Positive Guidance Strategies. The second workshop will be held on Saturday, February 18 called "Introduction to Inclusive Care". In case people are new to child care and/or do not meet entrance requirements into the ECD program, we are offering Orientation to Child Care. This course started in October and runs until March 2012 (attendance is mandatory, unfortunately it is too late to join the class now). Please let us know if there is interest in this course at a later date and if there is a demand, we will offer it again. For individual communities, Kate Swales will be in touch with you about training opportunities. ________________________ Office Hours of Operation

Upcoming Community Events
Learning Together Program for 3 & 4 y/o children -- Tuesday through Friday mornings, 9:30 to 11:30 at Selkirk Elementary School; added Sept 14/11 FLIC -- Kids in Transition Groups 2012 Registration -- great for kids of parents who are getting divorced or already divorced; added Nov 1/11 _________________________ Partners for Children Plus This site is an addition to the regular Partners for Children website. Oftentimes there are activities or research or 'stuff' that comes up that seems perfect for the larger PFC community. These items can feel too 'big' and perhaps have 'fit' for a more advanced audience compared to the regular site. SO PFC Plus is going to attempt to fill this niche. If you feel so inclined, let us know what you think. We'd love to hear if you have other ideas for this new space. Thanks! -Kate Swales _________________________
Early Childhood Development Program The Early Childhood Development Program integrates theory with practical experience to prepare students to work in early learning settings such as: child care facilities, pre-schools, as nannies or as educational assistants in Kindergarten and the early grades. Working with children is one of the most important things you can do.
