Rosaura's Diary Entry

Dear Diary

Today was Lucianna’s b-day partee. The partee started great. There was a monkey! There was also a big cake and a magic man! I was the fastest runner during tag and I got to help hand out cake! I was the best behaved. I was ready to come home and prove my momma wrong, she said I wasn’t invited as a friend. Why would Lucianna invite me if I wasn’t her friend?

I was proud of my bestest behavior at the partee. When the partee was over me and my momma were waitin for my goody bag.  Yes! A bracelet or a yoyo I thought. But when our turn came Senoras Ines handed me money. She told me I worked hard for it. She called me her pet. Pet? I thought I was luciannas friend. I didnt want the money. Momma grabbed my arm and we walked home.  All I wanted to be was her friend. I woulda never thought they would treat me like that just because I was the daughter of the maid. My momma was right , those kind of people aren’t your friends.

Good night

Rosie

Descriptive Paragraphs

Descriptive Paragraphs

I awoke. My head was throbbing. It felt like some one had used my head for a soccer ball. Despite my pain, I couldn’t move. My arms and legs were strapped to the table I was on. I was in what looked like a cabin. How did I get here I thought. All I remembered was going to sleep in my tent and hearing a loud bang. And now I’m here.  I saw a shadow and shortly after I was out like a light.

Once again I awoke. This cabin was strange. But I could still tell it was a cabin. Straight across from me was a window. This window was different though. It had little bugs carved into it and along the side of the window was little red dots. The door was black with a single white dot in the center. To the left was a couch, or at least I thought it was. This couch had huge holes in it. Nearby was a small yellow wood stove. In between the couch and the wood stove was a little rock sized hole with a light shining through it. In addition to this weird cabin I could hear this racking sound coming from the back of the house. This house is a monster I thought. As time passed my eyes became droopy and I soon fell into a soft sleep.

Within minutes I was awake again. This time to find myself inside my tent. I unzipped the tent door. At first the sunlight blinded me, but shortly after my eyes adjusted. Weird I thought. I was in my campsite, and it was just the way I had left it. It must have been a dream I told myself.

Similarties and Differences Between The Outsiders, Cool Crowd, Handling Anger And Resolving Conflict and See Saw

The Similarities of The Outsiders, See Saw, Anger and Resolving Conflict and The Cool Crowd

The Outsiders and Anger Management both have problems with anger and controlling it. See Saw was about people bullying other students just like in Anger Management as well as The Outsiders. But in The Outsiders more aggressive behavior is shown. The Cool Crowd was also about fitting in and people pushing other people out of their groups.

Some differences are : The Outsiders was more of a story. Anger And Resolving Conflict was less of a story and more commentary with examples of anger and the effects. The Outsiders was a longer story and the rest of them were short stories.

The Outsiders Commentary

                                The Outsiders Commentary

The Outsiders is a book about the struggles between two social groups. The story is like one big rolling ball of trouble. The Socs and the Greasers are constantly fighting. The Socs are rich kids with short hair and madras. The Greasers are poorer with long greasy hair and old shabby clothes. Pony boy Curtis is a boy who lost his parents and lives with his brothers. The story is about his life and his struggles as a greaser.

I think S.E. Hinton wrote this book to reflect on her life and to get her thoughts out. S.E HIntons point to this novel is to not judge people before you know them. And that everyone is capable to do things. This was a very good book.
